We met with the Apex robotics team for an outreach presentation and had the opportunity to share our experiences in FTC robotics. We showcased our robot, demonstrated its different mechanisms, and explained the engineering, design, and programming behind it. We also exchanged ideas and experiences with the team, helping build connections within the robotics community and encourage collaboration between teams.
We hosted an FLL summer camp to introduce younger students to the world of robotics and STEM. Throughout the camp, students learned about robot design, programming, engineering, and problem-solving through hands-on activities and challenges. Our team members guided the students, shared our experiences in robotics, and helped them develop teamwork and creative thinking skills while having fun.
Three members of our team—Sophia, Maxwell, and Alice—participated in NNO (National Night Out) in Olney, Maryland. We were grateful to be hosted by Equilibrium, who generously provided their tent for our team. During the event, we introduced local families to our DECODE robot, shared information about the FIRST program, and encouraged students to get involved in robotics and STEM. It was a great opportunity to engage with the community, promote STEM education, and inspire more students to discover the excitement of FIRST.
Our teammates Mason and Leyna engaged younger children by handing out prizes and candy while introducing them to FIRST and the exciting opportunities available through STEM and robotics.
We hosted an interactive workshop, "Building a Strong FTC Team from the Ground Up," during the FTC Kickoff at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. Through team-selection challenges, Family Feud–style activities, and real-world examples, we shared lessons on building strong team dynamics, defining roles, solving conflicts, and creating a successful FTC team culture.
